General

What is Pavuno?+

Pavuno is a New Zealand payment platform. It connects to the country's major banks so people and businesses can pay, get paid and request money in one place.

Who can use Pavuno?+

Individuals, businesses, merchants and developers. Individuals pay and request money; businesses and merchants accept payments; developers build on the platform.

Banking

Which banks does Pavuno work with?+

ANZ, ASB, BNZ, Westpac and Kiwibank.

Do I need to open a new bank account?+

No. You link an account you already have with one of the supported banks and use it for your Pavuno payments.

Payments

How do QR payments work?+

The payee shows a QR code. The payer scans it, checks who they are paying and the amount, and approves the payment from their linked bank account. Both sides get a confirmation.

What is the difference between a static and a dynamic QR code?+

A static QR code stays the same and the payer enters the amount. A dynamic QR code is created for one payment and already contains the amount.

What is Request to Pay?+

A payment request you send to someone with the amount and reference filled in. They approve it and the payment is made. You can see whether a request is pending, paid or expired.

What is a Paylink?+

A payment link you can share by message, email or on a website. Anyone who opens it can pay you. A Paylink can be single-use or accept many payments, and can have an expiry date.
